Michael Brangwynne is an Officer in the firm’s Boston office. His practice is focused on complex commercial and tort litigation. Mr. Brangwynne regularly represents businesses and individuals in disputes arising in the construction, real estate development, leasing, zoning and closely held business contexts. Additionally, Mr. Brangwynne has extensive experience both prosecuting and defending complicated tort actions, including actions for personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. Mr. Brangwynne has also represented numerous clients involved in trust and estate disputes in the probate courts of Massachusetts.
Beyond litigation, Mr. Brangwynne represents clients with respect to legal issues arising in the real estate development context, including zoning, permitting and licensing issues. He has extensive experience appearing before municipal and state zoning, permitting and licensing boards throughout the Commonwealth. Mr. Brangwynne is also well versed in Massachusetts alcoholic beverage licensing, and represents many clients in the hospitality industry, including restaurants, hotels, package stores, and alcoholic beverage manufacturers and distributors.

Mr. Brangwynne earned his Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University. He graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts. Mr. Brangwynne is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. During law school, he worked as a law clerk for the City of Boston Zoning Board of Appeals, as well as serving as a summer intern for the Honorable Christopher Muse of the Massachusetts Superior Court.

Mr. Brangwynne is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He has been selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine for the past four years. Mr. Brangwynne serves as an adjunct professor at Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School, where he teaches a class on the principles of business law. He is also an alternate member on the Zoning Board of Appeals for Watertown.
